Chris Goromonzi - Managing Director

Chris Goromonzi is the founding Managing Director of Bourse Africa Limited. An economics graduate with over 20 years experience in various fields in the financial sector, Mr. Goromonzi worked for a commercial bank as well as a development bank before pioneering the venture capital industry in Zimbabwe, joining a small team of officers to establish the Venture Capital Company of Zimbabwe (VCCZ). Mr. Goromonzi was involved in the establishment of Trust Merchant Bank (Zimbabwe) as a co-founder and a significant shareholder, with specific responsibilities for Business Development and Corporate Banking. Trust Bank converted its license to a commercial bank, at which point Mr. Goromonzi assumed the position of Deputy Managing Director, responsible for Merchant Banking. The Bank evolved into Trust Holdings Limited, and Mr Goromonzi assumed several key responsibilities within the Group. Mr. Goromonzi was involved in founding Pivot Capital Partners in South Africa, as the director responsible for Structured Trade Finance. Mr. Goromonzi is a regular speaker at the African Export – Import Bank’s conferences and has also been a resource person and speaker at several agricultural and commodity finance conferences sponsored by the United Nations.

Adam Gross - Director, Strategy

Adam Gross is the founding Director of Strategy at Bourse Africa Limited and has a background in corporate strategy, international development and commodity exchanges. As a corporate strategist, Mr. Gross contributed to the development of global best practices for the operations, management, marketing and strategic positioning of world-leading multinational companies across a number of industry sectors. Specifically, he has consulted for MCX India on the strategic development of the exchange, which has subsequently become among the world’s largest. Most recently, as a member of the United Nations Secretariat, Mr. Gross featured as a specialist on the subject of commodity exchanges with the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD). During his period with UNCTAD, Mr. Gross worked with commodity exchanges in various emerging markets to analyse the impacts of commodity exchanges on economic and social development, and to identify strategic imperatives driving exchange development in the context of emerging markets.

Girish Raipuria - Head of Operations

Mr Raipuria has over 18 years experience working in stock and commodity exchanges. Within the Financial Technologies Group his roles have included Head of Market Operations for MCX (an online futures exchange) and Senior Vice President – Operations for the National Spot Exchange (an online spot exchange). In both these capacities, Mr Raipuria was a core member of the team that set up and commenced operations of institutions which were the first of their kind in India. Mr Raipuria has also participated in the set up of various Indian and international exchanges within the FT Group, worked in various capacities for the National Stock Exchange in India (India’s leading stock market), and conducted numerous training sessions for different types of market stakeholder.
